The principal of the firm, Steven J. Martens, has been appointed as a Bankruptcy Trustee on numerous occasions since 1971 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. He has also served as court appointed receiver in Federal and State court. He has overseen the operation and ultimate sale in excess of $72,000,000 of real property. The scope of this work has covered a multi-state area.

The bankruptcy/receiver work has provided a variety of experiences in operating and selling various types of property. Projects have included: a feedlot operation in Western Kansas, 2 cattle companies, 4 motel/ restaurant/convention center operations, the school bus company for the state's largest school district, 3 real estate developers - which involved both finished projects and those that required completion, a crude oil purchasing company, 2 garden apartment projects, a multi-state cemetery operation, a records storage company, a mobile home dealer and a retirement community.
